Hosted from 9am - 6pm (includes a break for lunch)
This state-mandated course is taught by NRA and OPOTA certified instructors, and it meets all State of Ohio training requirements for applying for a Concealed Handgun License (CHL) which permits licensees to carry concealed firearms. It includes instruction in range safety, safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition, live fire shooting proficiency/qualification from distances of 7, 10, 15 and 25 feet, and completion of a written test consisting of a combination of true/false, multiple choice, short answer, and fill in questions. Students will also be given a copy of the Attorney General’s Ohio Concealed Carry Law book which can also be downloaded for the Ohio Attorney General’s website. (This book will also be provided during class, so there is no need to print it.) We strongly recommend that students review this publication before attending class so they can more actively participate in class discussions concerning related legal issues and get answers to frequently asked questions. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion of training which must be presented to your local sheriff’s office along with the required CHL application.
